the temperatures rising higher is a sign that the season of chinese new year is really just around the corner. and that means loads of totally awesome food, heaps of delectable sweets and perhaps more than just a few fabulous outfits.

what's your best memory of chinese new year from your childhood?

it's the fireworks. that though it was but a rather insignificant blast, it still looked awesome to a six-year-old kid. it's the staying up late way past midnight 'cos your grandma gotta pray to the gods.

it's watching her take over the entire garage area to make space for her kuih-kapet-making with all her tools as she puts the mixture on the moulds. when they're set and ready, granny takes them out and puts a seven-year-old kid in charge of holding them.

christmas time is here!
